Our living room has no good wall space for a clock. The area above our knick-knack cabinet kept calling for a clock-and-object still life; I think it worked out pretty great.

That said, I think I'm sub-consiously tempting the next big one (there's a 60% chance of a big earthquake in the Bay Area by 2030). At least all our big furniture pieces are strapped/mounted to the walls. I might eventually pick up some museum putty.
